Scope of application: This privacy policy was last revised on December 1, 2025.
iHere protects and connects the people, pets, valuables, and vehicles you care about—making your life easier and more enjoyable. We value your privacy as much as you do and are committed to safeguarding it.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, transfer, store, and protect your personal information through our products and services, as well as the choices available to you regarding this information.
As you review this policy, please note that it applies to the websites, mobile application (iHere), Help Center, and other related services provided by iHere, Inc. ("iHere," "we," or "our") (collectively, the "Services"). It also applies to iHere physical devices and other products.
Before accessing or using our products and/or Services, please ensure you have read and understood this policy, including how we collect, store, use, and disclose your personal information as described herein.
The information iHere collects depends on how you use our products or services and the type of products or services you use.
When you create or modify your iHere account, update your preference settings, purchase and/or activate products, contact us via social media or our help center, participate in online surveys, or otherwise interact with iHere products and services, we may collect various types of information, including:
When you create an account, we collect the following information: your username, email address, full name, nickname, date of birth, mobile phone number, password, shipping and billing addresses, and any activated products. You may also optionally provide a photo to associate with your iHere account and related iHere hardware products.
When you create a group in the iHere app and invite friends or family members to join, we collect their names, email addresses, phone numbers, and, if they provide a photo, their photos as well.
In certain cases—such as based on the features of the products and services you use, your age, and the country where you reside—we may take steps to verify that a parent or guardian has given consent for a child to use these services. We partner with an identity verification provider that may collect information from government-issued identification documents or capture your image (e.g., a selfie), which may then be combined with facial recognition technology. Note: The methods for obtaining consent may vary across different jurisdictions, and iHere may adjust our parental consent process accordingly.
When you place an order to purchase a product or upgrade to a premium subscription service, you will be required to provide an email address, your full name (including both your last name and first name), and/or your shipping address. Any payment information you provide will be processed by the relevant billing and/or payment processing entity. We may also collect information such as the version of the product or subscription service you are using, the date and time you activated your account, the duration of your subscription, data related to any subscription cancellation requests, and any in-app purchases you may have made.
When you customize features in our products or services (for example, marking locations on maps in the iHere app, using "Smart Alerts" for pet GPS devices, or providing emergency information about the wearer of a GPS device—such as their height, weight, gender, ethnicity, religion, medications, allergy history, medical conditions, or special needs information—or the pet's breed for animals), we will collect this related information. If you choose to create a pet profile, that profile may include the pet's name, avatar, breed, color, weight, gender, and birthday.
If you are a winner of a competition or lottery and are required to file a tax return, we may collect identifying information related to government-issued documents (such as your Social Security number).
When providing feedback or engaging with iHere in other ways (such as leaving a comment on a blog post or tagging us in a social media post), we will collect relevant information.
We collect information when you provide feedback in response to surveys about our products or services, share information about your friends with us (for example, when purchasing a membership subscription), or seek our assistance and provide details such as your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and records (including call recordings), as well as technical information related to the issues you're experiencing.
When you use or interact with our products and services, we and our service providers may collect other information, such as:
This covers various types of information about your device, including hardware and software details such as your mobile device identifiers, operating system, IP address, browser information (including browser type and language preferences), device brand/model, Wi-Fi connection, battery status, and advertising identifiers.
With your consent, we will collect precise geolocation data (including GPS coordinates and latitude/longitude information) via your mobile device or our products. We will also collect information about your location, such as the city or postal code inferred from your IP address, as well as information obtained through technologies like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
This type of information covers details about how and where you're moving—such as your speed, altitude, and direction—and is collected from built-in sensors in your mobile device or from our products (e.g., gyroscopes, accelerometers, compasses, cellular networks, and Bluetooth). This information can reveal whether you (or your pet) are on the move, and if so, whether you're cycling, walking, running, or driving; your current speed; and whether you're accelerating or decelerating.
When you use our products or services—for example, when you use our apps, visit our websites, or read our emails—we and our partners may employ various technologies, including cookies, web beacons, pixels, transparent GIF images, log files, embedded scripts, SDKs, location-based technologies, or other tracking/record-keeping tools (collectively referred to as "tracking technologies") to collect information about your activities within our services, such as the links you click, the features you use, whether you open our emails or click on links therein, the ads you view or click on, and information about your activity on specific pages of our website (for example, mouse movements and key presses, the items you browse and/or add to your shopping cart, and application performance data). We may combine this information with other personal information we collect about you.
When you send messages to your group members through our service or send photos or videos to your group members via the app, we collect relevant information. If you grant us permission, we can also access the contents of your device's photos or album.
We may obtain information about you from other sources. If you link another account to your iHere account, we will obtain relevant information from the companies providing these services.
We may also derive information or draw inferences based on other collected data (including precise geolocation data). For example, we might predict that you'll be interested in certain products and send you specific notifications tailored to how you've previously interacted with our services or to your typical activity patterns.
We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve our products and services, conduct research and development on new products and features, and promote our products and services, as detailed below.
We may use your information for the following purposes:
iHere may use your information for marketing purposes, such as sending you emails, SMS/text messages, mobile or push notifications, or postal mail (where permitted by applicable law) containing personalized information about iHere's or our business partners' products and services—including special offers or features that may be of interest to you.
We may also use the information we collect to evaluate the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns.
We may use the information we collect to:
When you choose to communicate or interact with our services via social networks, or if you use social features, the information provided to iHere through these social networks or social features may be used to verify information you have independently provided to iHere and to enhance our ability to deliver relevant information about our business, products, and services to you.
These social features are operated exclusively by the respective social networks and their service providers. We encourage you to carefully review their privacy policies before deciding to use them. We do not control or have access to the information collected, stored, or used by such social networks, and their data handling practices fall outside the scope of this Privacy Policy.
We may collect your personal information—including unique identifiers or advertising IDs and other data (such as app events)—and share it with third-party advertising networks and social media companies for purposes including, but not limited to, generating insights and improving personalized advertising, attribution, analytics, or research.
These advertising partners collect and use the following types of information:
They may combine this information with data they collect directly through tracking technologies or obtain from other third parties. These third-party partners may independently use the information they collect in accordance with their own privacy policies.
You have the right to object to, and opt out of, certain third-party tracking and advertising activities. If you have previously consented to iHere processing your information for these purposes, you may withdraw that consent at any time and opt out of specific processing activities, such as targeted marketing communications.
Even if you choose not to provide consent, we may still collect and use information about your activity on our websites and/or data from ads served on third-party sites for non-interest-based advertising purposes—for example, to measure ad effectiveness.
We, or you, may disclose your information to different iHere services, our subsidiaries, and third parties for our or their purposes, as described below.
Your personal information may be disclosed to other members of your iHere Circle, including:
Additionally, to enable certain features, you may choose to share specific personal information with other iHere users (e.g., your name, precise geolocation data, and mobile phone number). You and/or members of your group may also choose to disclose certain details from your group's pet profiles to other iHere users (e.g., precise geolocation data of the group GPS, or the pet's name, avatar, breed, color, weight, gender, and/or birthday).
Please note that other members of your Circle may also disclose personal information you have shared with them.
If another user uploads their contact list and you appear in it, we may notify that user that you are an iHere member. You can opt out of being recommended to people who have your contact information.
Any information or content you voluntarily submit or post to iHere blogs, community forums, or comments you publish on other social media pages will automatically become public. We may publicly display your comments and opinions on our website or mobile application, or link your comments to third-party websites.
We are not responsible for any information you choose to provide on social media pages, or for any content or communications you receive as a result of sharing such information.
If you wish to have your information removed from our website or blog, please contact us at iot@ihere.net .
We may disclose your personal information to vendors and consultants who assist us in providing services or perform functions on our behalf, such as accounting, administration, technical support, email, SMS, or chat services, marketing or analytics services, fraud prevention, bot detection, web hosting, and other parties that deliver services or features to our members on our behalf.
We may disclose personal information—including contact details, location and movement data (including precise geolocation data), mobile device information (e.g., data generated by gyroscopes and accelerometers in your device), application analytics data (including IP addresses and device identifiers), technical and analytical data, and driving event data—to business partners who provide certain features and services you have chosen to use through or in connection with our products or services, provided such products and services are available in your country or region.
Examples of such integrated services offered by our business partners include:
Where permitted by applicable law and consistent with your account settings, iHere may grant certain business partners the right to commercialize aggregated data for their own purposes, such as analyzing real-time traffic conditions.
We may at any time buy, sell, or divest all or any portion of our company, including its products, services, assets, and business operations. In connection with such transactions, personal information (e.g., member names and email addresses) and other user data related to our services may be transferred. We may disclose, transfer, or assign such information in the event of a corporate restructuring, including asset divestiture, merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, dissolution, or similar transaction or proceeding.
We are committed to transparency and empower you to make important decisions about how your information is used, processed, stored, and shared.
You can correct or update your account or personal information (e.g., name, email address, or phone number) or change your password by logging into your app, tapping "Settings," and then selecting "Account" (for iHere) or "Manage Account" (for the iHere app).
You may also request to:
Please note that the information accessible through the in-app links described in this section does not include technical data.

You may also contact us by sending a deletion request to iot@ihere.net to ask for your account to be closed and deleted. Please include your full name, the email address associated with your account, and the service(s) you are using.
For iHere users: If you delete your account or other personal information, location data related to your active iHere device may still be anonymously collected by other iHere Community members who have the app running and are within Bluetooth range of your device. To fully disable such data collection, we recommend that—before deleting your account or data—you transfer ownership of your iHere device (if applicable), remove its battery (if applicable), and/or deactivate the device to disable your product entirely.
As noted above, where permitted by applicable law, we may send you personalized communications about iHere's or our business partners' products and services—including special offers or features that may interest you—via email, SMS/text messages, mobile or push notifications, or postal mail. You may opt out of receiving these marketing communications by following the unsubscribe instructions included in such messages or as further described below.
Please be aware that even if you opt out of marketing communications, you may still receive non-marketing messages from us, including but not limited to:
As described above, we collect, use, and disclose precise geolocation data, driving events, and movement data. You can control this data collection and sharing through several options in the app settings:
If you no longer wish to use the product or service at all, uninstalling the iHere app (where applicable), removing the device battery (if applicable), and/or deactivating the device—as well as logging out of our service—will also prevent us from collecting your location data.
You may also choose to consent to or decline the use and sharing of personal information collected from our website (for the purpose of displaying targeted ads on other online platforms) by visiting the "Your Privacy Choices" link in the footer of our website and toggling the relevant settings as needed.
Please note that these preferences must be set separately for each browser on every device you use. These web-based settings do not affect in-app privacy controls. If you clear your cookies or your browser is configured to automatically clear cookies, you will need to re-submit your choices.
iHere takes special precautions to protect the privacy of our underage members. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the applicable minimum age without verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian. Our services are intended for use by children only with the full involvement and prior approval of a parent or guardian.
If iHere discovers that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child without the legally required parental consent, we will take appropriate steps to delete such information. If you are a parent or guardian and become aware that your child has registered an account or used our products through our services without your consent, please immediately notify us by emailing iot@ihere.net .
By permitting your child to create a member account or to use our products or services, you, as the parent or legal guardian, expressly consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy and agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your child's personal information as outlined herein.
If a parent wishes to add a child as a member to our services, we will require the parent to provide verifiable consent through one of the following methods: verifying the parent's real-name authentication information during registration, or submitting a parental consent form via postal mail or email. Once approved, the child will be able to access certain features of the iHere services.
In some cases, our products are designed to be worn and used by children and pets. By providing the product to a child, you represent and warrant to iHere that you consent to the child's use of our products and services, and as the parent, you further agree to enable and permit iHere to collect and use information from the child's use of the products and services, as described in this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service.
We take special precautions and collect only the personal information that is reasonably necessary for a child to use our products and services.
iHere may disclose a child's personal information to our third-party vendors, service providers, and business partners who provide integrated services, as described in this Privacy Policy. However, we do not share or sell the personal information of members we know to be children, nor do we display advertisements within child accounts.
A child's profile and location information will be shared with other members of the Circle to which the child belongs. Please note that the child may exchange information with these Circle members. You are responsible for monitoring your child's account and location-sharing activities through our products and services, and for enabling or disabling location-sharing features as you see fit.
Parents or legal guardians have the right to request access to or deletion of their child's personal information, and may also withdraw consent for our continued collection of personal information from their child through our products and services.
To make such a request—whether to review or delete personal information we may have already collected about your child, or to revoke iHere's permission to continue collecting additional information—please contact us at iot@ihere.net .
We will require the parent or legal guardian to provide sufficient proof of identity before granting access to or processing any such personal information.
iHere takes your information security seriously. The measures we have implemented to protect your personal information are described below.
We have put in place appropriate safeguards to reduce the risk of unauthorized or unlawful access to your personal information.
We will never send you unsolicited messages or contact you by phone to request sensitive information such as your account ID, password, payment details, or government-issued identification number. Please note that emails and other communications you send to us are not encrypted. We strongly advise against sharing sensitive information through these channels.
In the event that certain information under our control is compromised due to a security breach, we will take reasonable steps to investigate the incident and, where appropriate, notify affected individuals and take actions required under applicable laws and regulations.
You are responsible for safeguarding your password and ensuring that the email address associated with your account is accurate and up to date. We use your email address to communicate with you regarding service updates, policy changes, and account-related activities (such as requests for information).
We recommend using a unique, strong password for your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, please change your password immediately via the relevant app or website.
iHere is not responsible for any information or data inadvertently transmitted to third parties due to a member providing an incorrect phone number or email address.
iHere GPS devices incorporate unique hardware designed to provide robust security and encryption capabilities. These devices include a dedicated security chip used to communicate with our secure servers and feature tamper-resistant mechanisms. Unlike most other connected devices, they cannot be reprogrammed—during manufacturing, certain sections of the circuit board are physically burned out. iHere GPS location data is encrypted both at rest and in transit.
To protect against abuse of our services by bots or other malicious means, we employ anti-bot services to help ensure the integrity of our platform.
iHere will retain the information we collect in accordance with this Privacy Policy for as long as you continue to use our products or services, or as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which the information was collected, resolve disputes, establish legal defenses, conduct audits, pursue legitimate business interests, enforce our agreements, and comply with applicable laws. The specific retention period for a given type of information may vary depending on the purpose for which it is processed.
If you are located in Europe or in a jurisdiction with similar data privacy legal requirements, the following provisions apply to you.
The legal basis on which we process your personal information depends on the type of information collected, the context in which it was collected, and our records regarding your country of residence.
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) or a jurisdiction subject to similar legal requirements (such as Brazil, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom), we will process your information based on one or more of the following legal grounds:
For example, our typical legal bases include:
You have the right to access your personal information—including receiving it in a portable format—to request deletion of your personal information, and to request correction of inaccurate personal information. Additionally, you may have the right to object to certain types of processing or to request that we restrict specific processing activities.
You may exercise these rights by following the instructions in the "Your Choices Regarding Information" section above, or by contacting us via email at iot@ihere.net to submit a formal request. We may ask you for additional information to clarify your request and verify your identity and entitlement to make such a request. We will respond to your privacy rights requests in accordance with applicable law.
If you have concerns about how we process your personal information, we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible.

iHere has certified to the U.S. Department of Commerce that it adheres to the DPF Principles and processes personal information received under the DPF in accordance with those principles.
In cases where the DPF applies to your personal information, any conflict between the terms of this Privacy Policy and the DPF Principles shall be resolved in favor of the DPF Principles.
